What SkillKit is — and who it is for
SkillKit (skillkit.cc) is a curated marketplace for AI Agent Skills : small, installable packages of instructions and prompts that teach an AI agent to produce a finished, production-grade result. Instead of coaxing a chatbot with trial and error, you install a Skill once and the agent reliably produces the same class of output every time — a landing page, a product video storyboard, a 20-slide investor deck, or a consistent set of brand illustrations.
The marketplace is designed for four kinds of people. Designers use Skills to generate first drafts and variations of pages, posters and UI concepts. Founders use them to produce launch assets — sites, decks, demo videos — without hiring an agency for every asset. Marketers produce campaign imagery, ad copy frameworks and social content in batches. Content creators build repeatable pipelines: the same Skill, run weekly, produces a consistent series. If you have ever wished your AI tool simply "knew" what you wanted, a Skill is the missing piece.
Every listing on SkillKit shows its original prompt , a live preview of the output, the install count and a version history. Nothing is a black box: you can read exactly what a Skill does before you install it, and you can modify anything after installing it. This transparency is deliberate — we believe the best prompts deserve distribution, attribution and income, and that buyers deserve to know what they are getting.
Step 1 — Create your account
Start by opening the registration page . You have two options:
Email and password. Enter your email, choose a password of at least eight characters, and confirm. You will be signed in immediately — there is no email verification loop to fight through for browsing and installing free Skills.
One-tap Google sign-in. Click the Google button and approve the prompt. Your SkillKit account is created automatically from your Google profile, and future sign-ins are one click.
One account serves every role on the platform. The same login is your buyer wallet (for purchasing premium Skills), your creator dashboard (for uploading and selling your own Skills), and your affiliate account (for the invite program). There are no separate seller applications or approval interviews to get started — upload rights are granted to every account in good standing.
If someone invited you, enter their invite code during registration. You will still get everything a normal account gets; your inviter receives a small bonus as a thank-you. It costs you nothing either way, so it is worth filling in if you have a code.
Step 2 — Take a two-minute tour of the marketplace
Open the Skills page. This is the heart of SkillKit, and it rewards a minute of orientation:
Category chips. Filter by what the Skill produces: Web pages, Video, Slides or Images. Counts shown next to each chip are live.
Editor-curated filters. The pinned filters at the top are collections hand-picked by our editors — "Best of the week", "New creator picks" and seasonal collections. They are the fastest way to see what the marketplace can do.
Sort and search. Sort by newest, most installed, or top rated. Every listing card shows a live preview thumbnail, the price (or FREE), and the install count.
Detail pages. Click any card to open the detail page: full description, the original prompt behind the Skill, a changelog, previews you can enlarge, and the install or buy button.
Do not overthink this step. Click three or four cards that catch your eye and skim their detail pages. You will quickly develop a feel for how Skills are described and what a well-made listing looks like — which matters later when you upload your own.
Step 3 — Search like a pro
The search bar at the top of the site accepts natural language. Instead of guessing keywords, describe the outcome you want:
"landing page for my mobile app" — surfaces Web Skills tuned for app launches
"pitch deck for investors" — surfaces Slides Skills with financial and traction layouts
"product launch video" — surfaces Video Skills with storyboard and shot-list output
"logo and brand kit" — surfaces Image Skills that produce consistent brand systems
If a search returns too much, combine it with a category chip. If it returns too little, remove the qualifiers — the filters will narrow results better than longer queries. Searches remember nothing about you; they are stateless and instant, so experiment freely.
Step 4 — Install your first Skill
Pick any Skill marked FREE for your first install — this keeps the walkthrough zero-cost. On its detail page:
Press the Install button (or Copy install prompt ). The full Skill package is copied to your clipboard.
Open your AI agent — Claude, Cursor, or any agent that supports installing skills or system prompts.
Paste the package as instructed by your agent (usually a new project instruction, a custom instruction slot, or simply the first message of a conversation).
Run the agent once. Most Skills respond with a short confirmation and then start producing output in their expected format.
That is the entire install. There is no binary to download, no account to link, and no permissions to grant — a Skill is text, which is also why installs are instant and reversible. To remove a Skill, delete it from your agent's instructions; to update it, copy the prompt again from the detail page, which always carries the latest version.
Tip: keep a simple text file of the Skills you have installed and where. It takes seconds and makes rebuilding a workspace on a new machine painless.
Step 5 — Verify the result
A good first test is to run the Skill on a task you already understand. If you installed a landing-page Skill, ask it to produce a page for a product you know well and compare the structure, copy tone and section logic against your own judgment. Well-built Skills should show three signals:
Consistency. Run the same task twice; the structure and quality should be stable, not a coin flip.
Completeness. The output should arrive in the format the listing promised — full HTML, a complete slide outline, a shot-by-shot storyboard.
Customizability. The Skill should accept your context (product name, audience, brand voice) and fold it into the output rather than ignoring it.
If any signal is missing, check the detail page's changelog for usage notes first — many Skills expect a brief input format. If it still underperforms, you are within your refund window for premium purchases, and free Skills cost you nothing but a minute.
Step 6 — Set up your wallet (when you are ready)
The wallet unlocks premium purchases and creator earnings. Open your member center and open the Wallet panel. From there you can:
Top up the balance you will spend on premium Skills. Purchases deduct from the balance instantly; no card is charged per transaction.
Enable the invite program — your personal invite link is already active. Every friend who registers through it credits $5 to your wallet, and you earn a 10% lifetime override on their creator sales.
Upload your first Skill if you want to sell. Submissions are reviewed within 24–48 hours, and approved listings earn a 70% share of every sale.
Nothing in this step is required to keep using the marketplace. Many members browse and install free Skills for weeks before touching the wallet — set it up whenever a premium Skill actually earns your $9.
Your first week: a simple plan
Here is the plan we recommend to every new member. Day 1: register, install two free Skills in a category you work in daily, and run them on a real task. Day 2: try the editor-curated filters and install one Skill outside your comfort zone — cross-category inspiration is where unexpected wins live. Day 3: search for the task you did manually most recently and see whether a Skill does it faster. Day 4: if you hit friction, open a ticket — real usage reports shape our curation. Day 5: if you have a prompt of your own that works repeatedly, draft its listing; the upload form takes about ten minutes. Weekend: share your invite link — the override program means early friends compound into real wallet credit.
The theme of the week is repetition . A Skill proves itself by producing the same class of output reliably. Everything you install this week should be judged on that single question: would this save me time tomorrow, and the day after?
Troubleshooting your first run
The agent ignores the Skill. Make sure the package was pasted where your agent reads instructions (a project instruction, custom instruction, or system prompt slot) rather than buried mid-conversation. Most agents apply instruction changes from the next message onward, so send a fresh message after pasting.
The output format is wrong. Re-read the listing's usage notes — several Skills expect a one-line input format such as "product | audience | goal". Feeding them a paragraph often degrades the result.
The Skill is too generic. Add your real context: product name, audience, tone, constraints. Skills are engines, not oracles; the quality of input context is the single largest factor in output quality.
Paste did nothing. Press the copy button again and check that the clipboard actually contains the package — some clipboard managers intercept long text. If the problem persists, open a ticket and include the Skill name and your agent; we will reproduce it.
Frequently asked questions
Is SkillKit free? Browsing, accounts and all free Skills are free forever. Premium Skills are one-time purchases from your wallet, and Pro membership unlocks the whole premium catalog while subscribed.
Do installs expire? No. A copied install prompt keeps working. When a creator ships a new version, the detail page serves the updated package and you can re-copy any time — but nothing you already installed breaks.
Can I install the same Skill on multiple agents? Yes. The install prompt is yours to use across your own tools and workspaces. What you may not do is redistribute or resell the package itself — see the Terms of Service.
How do updates reach me? Updates are opt-in by design. The detail page always shows the latest version and a changelog; revisit it when a Skill you rely on announces a change.
Where do I get help? The help center covers every module in depth, and support tickets get a first response within 24 hours on business days.
You are ready. Browse the marketplace , install something, and let the agent do the heavy lifting.
